At the eastern boundary of Yellowstone National Park, Cody, Wyo. is a small town that puts on a big show for the Fourth of July. Every July 1-4, the town welcomes tourists and celebrates locals with a series of rodeos, parades, cookouts, dances and other events that always make for a lively and festive Independence Day holiday.

The Stampede Parade, Cody’s Fourth of July parade that runs the length of Sheridan Avenue, is the biggest in Wyoming. To get in a little practice and make a head start on the Fourth of July, Cody holds the same parade on July 3. Not all of the nearly 150 floats, groups and participants who parade on the 4th show up for the 3rd, but most do.

So enjoy these 30 patriotic images from Cody’s Third of July Parade. And if you were planning on skipping the Fourth of July in Cody, change your plans. It’s a great American celebration you won’t want to miss.
