Locals and frequent visitors to Yellowstone and Grand Teton national parks have usually heard more than once how to behave during an encounter with a bear. But what about folks in Rhode Island?

In a wonderfully goofy viral video, reporter Julie Tremmel of the local NBC affiliate in Providence offers her take on the conventional wisdom for how to survive a bear attack. In her case, the local bear is described as a “massive” 300-pound black bear.

Though that’s a bit less threatening than the average size for a male grizzly bear in Yellowstone country, Tremmel acts out a spirited pantomime against an imaginary bruin that is hilarious, and reasonably informative in the process.

For anyone venturing into the bear country of Yellowstone (or Rhode Island), it’s 30 seconds worth watching.
