Filmmaker Charley Voorhis spent three days in Yellowstone National Park and five days in Grand Teton National Park capturing images of wildlife, scenery and weather to create “Primordial,” a captivating 7-minute video that offers an intimate and gorgeous portrait of the parks.
While in Yellowstone, Voorhis, spent most of his time “trying to dry off after countless storms would roll in and swallow the caldera, then roll out and give me sunshine with dark clouds looming on the horizon,” he writes on his blog.
“A spark to film the natural world was lit in me over the course of this trip,” Voorhis writes. “Though I’m happy with the video, it really just scratches the surface of how the trip really felt.”
For the period between fall and winter, when much of the parks are closed to autos, “Primordial” is a welcome reminder of what we all love about Yellowstone and Grand Teton.
A whole 8 days to capture ” Primordia ” ? I’ve been shooting in Yellowstone for 45 years and still haven’t got it in the bag. Best he can hope for is a field sketch…
Spectacular!
Truly breathtaking. Felt like I was there.
Great work
