The National Park Service will issue a prospectus soliciting proposals for the award of two concession contracts within Grand Teton National Park to provide guided overnight backpacking services for youths under the age of 21, including associated transportation, food service, and guided day hikes.
The prospectus explains the business opportunity and the terms and conditions under which the Park Service will award the two concession contracts, according to a statement released by the park’s public affiars office.
Pursuant to 36 CFR, Part 51, the Park Service director has determined that the existing concessioners are preferred providers for the new contracts.
Guided overnight backpacking trips for youths are currently being provided by Wilderness Ventures and Teton Valley Ranch Camp Education Foundation. These concession contracts were effective beginning January 1, 2005, and will expire on December 31, 2014.
The prospectus will be available at http://www.concessions.nps.gov/prospectuses.htm.
Hard copies will be available upon request for a printing cost recovery charge. The fee is $35.00 per copy if delivered via Federal Express, or $30.00 per copy if picked up in person. Persons interested in obtaining a prospectus should mail, or bring in person, a check or money order made payable to the NPS. Cash will not be accepted. To receive a Federal Express package, a physical address (no post office box) must be provided, as well as a telephone number.
